Hardy & Torquato Only Repeat Winners at Dog Hollow Speedway
STRONGSTOWN, PA (June 11, 2021) – Kyle Hardy, of Linden, VA, returned to Dog Hollow Speedway and garnered his second straight checker in the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Model feature. Uniontown’s Michael Lake used a last lap restart to win his first MCS Super Late Model feature of the season. Lake ’s win made it four different winners in four races. Colton St. John towed in from Killbuck , OH to earn the Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinder checker while Bob Torquato won his third straight in the AMSOIL/Ron’s Auto Body RUSH Stock Car feature. The visiting Super 6 Late Models saw Masontown’s Michael Duritsky take the win. The 15-lap AMSOIL/Ron’s Auto Body RUSH Stock Car feature saw Jeremy Zufall’s car falter at the start. This allowed heat winner Bob Torquato to win his third straight feature win. In the 25-lap MCS Super Late Model A-Main John Wayne Weaver took off at the start. A restart on lap two found Clinton Hersh, in his own #16, blow by on the restart. Hersh led through a few more early restarts before opening up a sizeable lead on Weaver. Michael Lake took over the second spot on lap 22. Lake was closing the gap but time was running out when a caution flew on the final lap. This set up a two lap dash to the finish. Lake wasted to time when the green flew and quickly disposed of Hersh and lead the final two laps to earn the win, his first since 2018 at the Dog Pound. Hersh was second over John Wayne Weaver, Billy Eash, Dave Blazavich, Del Rougeux, Denny Fenton, Dylan Fenton, Ryan Christoff and Mike Laughard. Heats were won by Joe Petyak and Weaver. The wild 12-lap Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinder feature sent to Ohio invader Colton St. John. Mike Phillipson, driving Dylan Young’s #14, took off at the start leading the first seven laps. St. John , who started 18th, quickly worked his way forward and took second on lap seven. Lap eight saw leader Phillipson flipping out over turn two. This handed the lead over to St. John , who led one more lap when the race was checkered after another caution and the time limit expired. Cody Young came from the rear after a pit stop to take the second spot followed by Noah Swank, Jeremy Trusko, Cory Staley, Chuck Dizzle, Michael Sinclair, Bill Eckenrode, Timothy Baker and Jamie Noel. Taking heat wins were Mike Phillipson and Tyler Laughard. Kyle Hardy started on the pole and led every lap winning his second straight in the 20-lap Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Model feature. Hardy drove away to an over straightaway lead defeating Michael Duritsky. Levi Crowl, Joe Moyer, Tim Snare, Mark Rend, Rudy Bussaro, Joe Petyak, Joe Martin and Andrew Koenig rounded out the top ten. Heat went to Joe Moyer and Kyle Hardy. The Super 6 Late Models rounded out the night. RUSH driver Michael Duritsky picked up a ride and led all 15-laps to score the win. Mike Spinneweber, Cory Stivason, Rod Phillipson, Ed Dunkel and Denny Jerko completed the field. Duritsky won the lone heat. Coming up Friday, June 18, the 4 Cylinders will run for extra pay and laps.
